Declaring campaign victory and closing the loop

Declaring campaign victory and closing the loop

Congratulations! Your campaign has achieved victory and made a difference. Now the only thing left to do is tell the world about your success.

Why you should send a victory update

Declaring victory lets your campaign’s supporters know that their efforts were effective. It also closes the campaign and automatically directs your supporters to other campaigns you’re actively running, giving you momentum as you achieve one campaign victory after the other.

When you declare victory, the following will happen:

  • All of the campaign’s actions (i.e., petitions, pledges, and fundraisers) will automatically be closed. This means people will no longer be able to take action on the campaign.
  • Your campaign will be clearly marked as a “victory” and will highlight the number of actions taken.
  • The victory update you write will be publicly displayed on the campaign page.
  • Visitors will be directed to visit your next campaign.
  • An email declaring victory will be sent to all of your supporters.

Pro TipOnce you declare victory, it cannot be undone. Make sure you proofread the copy, preview the email, and double-check that the correct photos and videos were attached.

How to send a campaign victory update

While on your campaign’s page, click the link just below the campaign photo and to the right of the post options that says Declare campaign victory. Then fill out the form as instructed.

Share the victory with media

Optionally, you can share your success story with media outlets to let them know your campaign made an impact. If you were able to get media coverage in the earlier stages of your campaign, start your outreach with those reporters. They’ll probably be the most interested in telling your story. For more tips on how to get media coverage, check out this post.

What’s next?

For some people, the first campaign victory is only the beginning. You can get started on your next campaign by clicking here.

For others, it’s time to kick back and celebrate the fact that you’ve made a difference. Keep in mind, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other campaigns on Causes that need your support.

No matter which group you fall into, the entire Causes team thanks you for helping make the world a better place.
